Who is ZumaTel.net?

ZumaTel.net is the new domain name for customers who buy their Internet service from Montezuma Telephone. It is also the name Montezuma Telephone will use when we are referring to any of our Internet services.

Today, customers who buy Internet service from Montezuma Telephone are really using netINS as the Internet Service Provider (ISP). The ISP is the company that has the technical expertise and network needed to connect to the Internet. Montezuma Telephone has decided to transition to a new ISP, Iowa Telecom, and selected the name ZumaTel.net to refer to this service change.

Why is Montezuma Telephone making the transition from netINS to ZumaTel?
Newton-based Iowa Telecom purchased Montezuma Telephone last year. Since Iowa Telecom operates as its own Internet Service Provider (ISP), we felt changing our Internet service would provide local control over the products and services we are able to offer you now and into the future. Our customers will experience a better Internet connection as a result.

Many will see an immediate improvement in the speed they are able to connect to the Internet. Plus, a locally-run website, www.ZumaTel.net, that is designed specifically for our Internet customers. This site will include a login for Webmail, frequently asked questions about your Internet service, important updates regarding your service including our maintenance schedule, as well as links to all the local and national news organizations, weather, sports, shopping and more. We encourage you to use this site as your Internet Home Page so you can stay up to date with everything going on locally and with your Internet service.

In addition, customers will be able to enjoy a better level of service with added security and parental controls. ZumaTel will offer customers iToolbox and Premium SPAM Control services for no additional charge. These services allow you to:

  • Set parental controls for the types of websites your computer will allow access to
  • Avoid those annoying pop-up ads from cluttering your computer screen
  • Set SPAM control levels so you can deter junk e-mail messages from reaching your inbox

Yes, you will. It will be username@zumatel.net. You will continue to use the same username you use today. Your username is the information that appears before the ?@netins.net? in your e-mail address. For example, if your username is janed:

Current e-mail: janed@netins.net
New e-mail: janed@zumatel.net

NOTE: your e-mail address is not case sensitive, so zumatel.net and ZumaTel.net are the same thing.
